How to use this calculator

How to use your result

Choose a complete reporting period and allow for conversion lag. A 5× ROAS means five pounds of attributed revenue for every pound spent on ads. It does not mean five pounds of profit: stock, fulfilment, platform fees, overheads and refunds still need to be covered.

Compare like with like

Use the same attribution window and revenue definition when comparing campaigns. Platform reports may credit the same sale to more than one channel, so adding channel revenue together can overstate the total. Use business revenue and contribution margin as a second check.

A worked example

£10,000 of attributed revenue from £2,000 of ad spend gives a 5× ROAS, or 500%. With 100 purchases, CPA is £20 and average order value is £100.

Common questions

What is a good ROAS?

There is no universal target. A business with high contribution margins can afford a lower ROAS than one with expensive fulfilment or thin margins. Use the break-even calculator to estimate your own minimum.

Is ROAS the same as ROI?

No. ROAS compares revenue with advertising spend. ROI compares profit with investment and depends on which costs you include.

Why are CPA and order value blank?

They need a positive number of conversions. Zero conversions gives an undefined CPA, so the tool does not show a misleading zero.
