Privacy & analytics

Last updated: 21 September 2026. I’m Tristan Draper, and I run Draper Digital. This page explains how this website uses optional analytics and how you can control them.

Your analytics choice

PostHog analytics stay off until you choose Accept analytics. Declining does not change your access to articles, referral codes or tools. Use Analytics preferences in the footer to change or withdraw your choice at any time.

I remember your choice in your browser for up to 180 days using local storage named dd-analytics-consent-v1. If you clear browser storage or the choice expires, I ask again. This preference is used to honour your choice, including when you decline.

What I measure

If you accept, I use PostHog to measure public page visits, referral-link clicks, successful referral-code copies and clicks to book a call or send me an email. Events include the public page path, the referral provider or contact action, the referring website’s domain and origin, basic browser/device information, and randomly assigned browser and session identifiers. These are pseudonymous usage records, not named customer profiles.

The integration removes URL query strings and fragments, full referral destinations, form contents and email addresses from events. Session recordings, automatic capture of every click, error capture and named visitor profiles are disabled. I also disable IP storage and geolocation enrichment for these events. The CMS administration area, private previews and development sites are excluded.

A referral click or copied code tells me that someone was interested. It does not confirm that they opened an account, qualified for a bonus or generated income.

Where analytics data goes

PostHog processes the analytics on my behalf. This site is connected to my existing PostHog US Cloud project, so analytics data is processed in the United States. After you accept, PostHog stores its random identifiers and session information in browser storage. Withdrawing consent stops future analytics and clears the SDK’s stored tracking state on this site; it does not automatically remove events already received by PostHog. If you want to ask about a previous record, contact me before clearing your browser storage, as I may otherwise be unable to associate a pseudonymous record with your request.

Using the website and contacting me

My hosting provider processes connection information, such as an IP address and requested URL, to deliver and protect the website. The site also loads its fonts from Google Fonts, which involves a connection to Google. These operational requests are separate from optional PostHog analytics.

If you email me or book a call, I use the information you provide to respond to your enquiry and arrange the work or conversation you requested. Booking services and the websites you visit through referral links have their own privacy notices. My site does not collect your financial account application or payment details.
